The Women’s Caucus welcomes all women of the Society of Christian Ethics.
This blog offers a collection of intellectual, pedagogical, spiritual, and moral resources that women of the caucus find valuable in resistance to hatred, indifference, and injustice. It provides us the opportunity to share our collective wisdom about scholarship, teaching, and activism with one another and with the world.
Informed by Christian ethics from numerous perspectives, our conversation here responds to our common call to love one another and to struggle for justice. It also arises from the recognition that liberation from oppression requires attention to dynamics of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, and disability.
“We women should be the last to allow ourselves to be trapped in a ‘spiritualizing’ notion that real change in our flesh and blood world ever comes from absenting ourselves from what is going on in that world” (Beverly Harrison, The Power of Anger in the Work of Love).
